Rental payments being refused
At one time my property manager was charging my late fees when my rent wasnt late. Then charged me for repairs that were never done to the apt. Then she began to say she didnt recieve payments.I then began to send them by registed mail and she either return them or say they werent recieved even though my postal tracking showed it had been. I notifyed fair housing but was told if my mgr. Didnt return the call theres nothing they can do but call back if she begins eviction process. I plan on opening an escorw acct. To deposite my rent in but how or would i have to notify the mgr. Of rent payment? Is there any legal action i can take against property mgr. For this malicious act? Do i really have to wait until an eviction process begins to settle this problem? I have lived in my apt for the past 7 years but when i became ill and now recieve ssi(which this caused no problems with rent being paid) my mgr. Acts if she wants me out and this is how(refusing rent payment) she is trying to do it.
