Rental Question, Tenant is in house and their is sewer plumbing problem and are told that they will have to leave for 5 days or more while repairs are being done. Home has Aspesic in the walls and has to be removed and possible mold. All plumbing will be remove to find the leak. Is the owner reponsible to pay for housing during this time the tenant is require to leave the home.

If the tenant has to vacate the unit so that repairs may be made, then the LL should pay for the tenant's temporary housing or reduce the rent. The cost of replacement housing should be covered by the LL's homeowner's insurance. I would question whether or not a better solution would be to end the rental relationship and ask the LL for help in getting into another unit.
The landlord's only obligation is not to charge rent for that period of time.
