Are there different laws regarding the rental of private homes? What if part of

the house is rented? How do I evict a tenant in this circumstance?

If you're renting only part of the house, then your tenant may be considered a ''lodger.'' IN that case, you must give notice to the tenant to move out, and that notice must be for a period of time equal to the tenant's periodic rent (i.e. weekly or monthly) If the tenant does not move out after the notice period, you may have him thrown out by the police for trespassing without filing a lawsuit. Good luck.
