Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I rented an apartment in Nov. I paid all but $75.00 of Dec's rent. I just recieved notice that the building is in foreclosure and that as of tomorrow there will be no water to the building. What are my rights? Do I have to finish paying for Dec?

The new owner (or old owner) must maintain utilities for the tenants. You might call the county buildings and/or health department and complain. Or, you can move. Since you are being denied essential utilities, you can claim the apartment is not habitable, and the landlord has violated the implied covenant of habitability. You do so at the risk of the owner taking action against you.
