Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
My renter owes me 1371.46 in past due rent and utilities. It has been since Oct. 13, 2011 and I still have nothing from tenant. I am going to take them to small claims can I do any further for my time?

I am not sure what you mean. You can collect for the back rent, utilities, any penalty provision included in the lease, filing fee for the suit, but not for the time you take to file suit. You should give the tenant a three day notice for failure to pay the rent and move to evict them.
