Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

renter question

I recently moved from an appartment. they are trying to charge me for cleaning my carpets twice. and for painting a spot in the hallway. I lived there for 1 year and 4 mo. I was told that they can not charge for normal wear and tear after a certain amount of time. Can you tell me approx how long that time is? there were no tears abnormal spots.... there were no holes in the wall or severe spots on the walls.

thank you very much.

I appreciate your input.

Re: renter question

There is no time limit on normal wear and tear.

Normal wear and tear is the responsibility of the landlord. PERIOD!
