Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I renting a house that my landlord is short selling. He wants to show the property to buyers . How often do I have to let realtors come with clients. Do they have to notify me prior to arriving. After it has been sold how much time must they give me to move out. I am no longer on a lease.

They do need to privide notice prior to entering. They can show it as often as is reasonable which is of course a relative thing. So long as you are not constantly being disturbed with an unusually high volume of showings they have the right to show the property.
If the new owner wishes to termiante your tenancy you must be given a 30-day notice or, if you have been there longer than a year, a 60-day notice. If you have a security deposit you should contact you current landlord to see what he is going to do with it. By law he must either turn it over to the new owner or return it to you after making any lawful deductions. If he gives it to you the new landlord may ask for a new deposit from you. If he gives it to the new landlord, the new landlord must account for it at the end of your tenancy. If he does neither, he is still responsible for deposit. The new landlord is as well, meaning that he would still need to return the deposit (after lawful deductions) to you at the end of the tenancy even if the old owner did not give him the money.
