Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

When renting an house on an month to month. Do you pay for everything, like the water , trash and all the bills.

Also do you have to pay for all the repairs in the home.

What the charges are would be between you and the landlord. Make sure to get any agreement in writing, though, so that there's no question about it. Usually, when renting a home, a renter pays all of the utilities, unlike an apartment where the landlord might pay for water, hot water, and trash.

As for the repairs, the tenant should pay for those that he/she causes. The remainder of the repairs for problems that might occur should be up to the landlord to fix.
