Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

renting uninhabitable residence

I am living in an apartment that has been cited by the city building inspector but the landlord has done nothing about having the residents move myself included. I am concerned about being eviced. If this were to happen would I be compensated in any way

Yes!

You would be entitled to damages, which are covered by rent abatement. The courts would consider a fair amount to be assessed against the landlord.
