Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

we reside in san diego california. we have bedbugs and would like to find out if the owner is financially liable to replace your mattress/boxsprings . we are not able to replace these items on our own and we really shouldn't have to do without them. We have complied with everything that was asked of us from the pesticide company in the preparation for the treatment

The landlord would only be responsible to pay if he/she was negligent in causing the problem. You would have to ask the pesticide company if they can determine the source of the bed bugs; could you have brought them in, do other tenants have the same problem which would suggest there is a source other than you, etc. Ask the landlord to see if their insurance will cover your damages or if they are willing to work out some type of compromise with you.
