Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Retaliation/Eviction

My landlord to me to court for non-payment of rent they lost & the judge called them liars when I told him why she claimed she did not get the rent.He said they gifted me 2 mo. rent.We start fresh next month. The case was Dismissed With Prejudce. Can she try to evict me or raise the rent?Would this be considered retaliation?I was the Manager for 18 mo. and she is not happy with me because I would not lie for her in front of that same judge.

Re: Retaliation/Eviction

Anytime a landlord attempts to retaliate for the sole reason of exercising your legal rights, there is the possibility of defending based on retaliatory eviction (if the landlord attempts such).
