Roommate 30 day notice?

I am on a month to month lease and

my roommate and I are having

problems. My landlord said I have to

give a 30 day notice to her but not

to my roommate.

Is this true? Could I give a 30 day

notice to my landlord but give a

week notice to my roommate? Or

could she sue me? we did not make

or sign any agreement between the

2 of us regarding moving out.

I'll have to check the lease

agreement for the ''jointly and

severally'' thing...although I'm not

sure what that means as far as Im

concerned.
