Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My roommate paid me $200 for a deductible and his dog destroyed the carpet, there are holes in the wall and the paint is scratched up, i gave him a 30 day notice to move and he told me he isn't going anywhere unless i give him his $200 deductible, he leaves his air conditioner on all day with his windows open since i gave him the notice and hasn't last months rent and told me he doesn't plan on paying rent anymore so i need to get him out asap

is there any way to make him leave without taking him to court?

No. If he does not want to leave, you will have to file an unlawful detainer lawsuit and have him evicted. A three day notice for non-payment will help you get him out faster. You may want to contact a landlord tenant attorney in your area for help in doing it right.
