Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I am a roommate wanting to move out, never seen the contract or seen it. If I signed a rental agreement without knowing what is in the contract, will I be accountable still as a one year lease ? The tenant who signed the contract said I won't be able to leave but she didn't say anything when I first have her a notice for two months and gave her a date I was moving out. Coming closer a month and a half before this upcoming leave date I set, I asked to talk to the landlord about moving out. But I was told by the tenant who lease the place that I was not allowed to because he doesn't know who I am. Whether I signed the rental lease, will I have to stay unil the contract is over is I never seen it or know what is on there according to what he is telling me thy is on the contract. And I gave them a two month noticed that I was leaving and they never said I wasn't able to until now as the day gets closer.

Your post is confusing because it is not clear who your landlord is. If you are subleasing, you pay rent to another tenant, and that tenant is your landlord. But if you pay rent to someone else, then the other tenant is your cotenant, and has no say in the manner. You need to speak to an attorney in person, or on the phone, and clear this up.
