Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
A former roommate/friend of mine is currently threatening to sue me for $100, a little under half of what she payed for rent that month, she decided to leave with no advanced notice in the third week of the previous month. There was no written agreement or lease for her staying at the house and she's claiming I made the house "unlivable" because she got into a feud with my girlfriend, over the internet. She has threatened to sue me as well as have her step father come to my house and beat my ass, not even a few minutes after i received a message from her mother threatening the same thing, so my question is, does she have any legal standing to request this money from me and what are my options with proceeding.

If you fear for your safety, you might seek a civil harassment restraining order against her entire family. Is it worth it for her to go to court for $100? Depending on what you or your live-in (?) girlfriend might have done to cause her to leave abruptly, she might have been justified if she feared for her well-being.
