Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

satellite dish on apartment

When I moved into this apartment over a year ago I was able to install satellite TV. Now there is new management and they say it has to be moved to the patio or go. They will not pay for moving the dish. Do I have any recourse in this matter.

Re: satellite dish on apartment

I believe that the landlord has no say over whether or not you put a dish on your balcony or other part of your unit over which you have control as a tenant. If the dish is on the roof, then there should not be a problem. What is the problem with the ''patio''? Additionally, if you had the dish there before new management took over, they cannot change it without good cause. Good luck and call me for a consultation. The above does not create an attorney-client relationship until a retainer agreement has been signed.
