Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I tried to send this question last night and believe it got lost somewhere in internet space. I sent a question 2 days ago about a tenant that we have been attempting to evict. We gave him notice 2 months ago and are now dealing with starting legal proceedings to get him forcibly removed due to information I received from this site. Thank you so much for that! Last night we learned that he is a registered sex offender. I am in a bit of a state of shock. I am outraged that it is not law that we be notified in some way, can be left in the dark and put in this insane situation. Someone from an angry organization was sitting in front of our home last night threatening to do harm to him and whoever is allowing him to live here. I clearly want him gone TODAY and need to know if there is anything else we can do to protect ourselves and get him out now. Thank you again.

If his living at that unit violates the law because of its distance from a banned area [school] or if he mislead you as to his status, that would be a further grounds to add in the UD complaint, but it will not speedup the process or change what you must do. Talk to that organization and the picketer and explain the situation to them so they do not come by again.
