Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
are seperation orders valid for my landlord to honor military clause. I recently signed a 6-month lease but am seperating from active duty. However, my landlord states that she will not honor seperation orders only a transfer of duty.

Your landlord is within his rights. Leaving active duty is not really any different than changing jobs. I don't get to avoid my lease just because I change jobs or quit. Neither do you. I wouldn't get to void my job if my employer transferred me, which you would have been able to do, but just because you get one perk from being in the military doesn't mean you get anything you want for any reason.
