Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
septic tank at rental home
we rent our home. we have only been here ten months and the septic tank is clogged and toilets not working. Are we responsible for the bill? Nothing is mentioned in the lease in regards to the septic tank.
Thank you
Lisa

Only if something you or your co-tenants did something to clog the system. Otherwise it's the landlord's obligation to provide habitable premises, including sewage service.
