Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I was served a 3 day notice that expired on Friday the 9th, I was receiving notices in the mail for the owner of the house i am renting, the notices were from banks that held the mortgage demanding payment. The tricky part is that this owner has a management company managing the properties, and its obvisous that they arent paying the mortgage. I was also getting forecloser notices too. I am vacating the property this week on th 15th, can they, since i ignored the 3 day notice last week, lock me out ? I reside in Los Angeles, California ,thanks for the help

No they can't lock you out without a judgment or court order. I would suggest that you call whomever sent you the 3 day notice and talk to them and arrange a date to leave by so they don't file an unlawful detainer lawsuit against you. By the way if you have a valid lease the new owner now has to honor it as long as you pay your rent.
But the important thing is call the people who sent you the three day notice and work something out with them. They will be happy they dont have to fight with you about getting you out and perhaps give you a little more time but do not ignore the 3 day notice
