Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Settlement Hearing What should I bring?

I am the tenant and was late on rent (not more than 20 days for about 3 months in a row) On the final month I was served an unlawful detainer and my rent check returned to me. My financial problems were due to being laid off and exhausting my savings. I was just recently re-hired full time at my old company and want to remain in my apartment that I have lived for 4 years.

I also have had to spend extra money for court and miss a few days of work and am short a few hundred of the $2800 now due for 3 months. I will have the money in less than a week and future rent will not be a problem.

What do I need to bring to the settlement hearing and then what do I need for the actual court date? HELP

Re: Settlement Hearing What should I bring?

Bring your keys with you. Your lease is over. You can at least avoid an unlawful detainer judgment if you turn over the keys.
