Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Sued landlord won case

In July 2005 I moved out of my apartment to be with my husband who was stationed overseas. After numerious failed attemps to get my deposit back I ended up having to come back early to take her to court before we left to my husbands next duty station. I won my case that she didn't even come to. And want to know what I can do next to get my money since this happened in California, and I am now in Oklahoma. Do I need to get a lawyer?

Do you need a lawyer? That really depends on your level of comfort with the court system and your ability to find the debtor's assets.

When clients ask me this question, I tell clients that it is like changing the oil in your car. I took auto shop in high school and I know how to change the oil in my truck. By the time that I get out the floor jack, drain the oil, change the filter, figure out how to dispose of the old oil and put the new oil in, I've blown half of my Saturday. For $20, I have somebody else do it in about 30 minutes while I take my daughter to McDonald's for lunch. And I also get a free car wash.

Do you NEED a lawyer? Not necessarily, but you probably have batter things to do with your time. In consideration of the sacrifices your family has made to serve our country, I will try to try and help you collect this at no costs if you cover the necessary expenses.
