Do I Have To Switch Apt If My Landlord Says

I just moved into an apartment 5 weeks ago with a month to month lease. 2 days ago a fire burnt down 4 units. Landlord told me today he is going to move me in a week to other apt that I have not agreed to so the tenant who was misplaced by the fire can have my apartment. Can he do this? What are my rights here?

If your lease or rental agreement gives the landlord the right to do so, he might be entitled to do so. If you are on a month to month, he might be able do so with adequate notice, just as he could do so without any reason. If you have a lease, and there is nothing in the lease agreement that allows for him to make such a move, I do not believe he can do so.
