Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Tenant behavior
I have had a dispute with another tennant in my apartment complex. My landlord is threatening to evict me. Can he do this? There is nothing in my rental agreement referring to this.

Re: Tenant behavior
The landlord may be able to terminate your tenancy on a number of grounds, irrespective of whether it is contained in the lease or not.
If your lease does not have a remaining term on it (in other words, you are month-to-month at this point), then your tenancy may be terminated on 30 or 60 days notice WITHOUT CAUSE depending upon how long you have lived in the apartment. If you have a remaining term, the landlord can only terminate your lease for cause, which will either be determined under the lease, or on a theory of nuisance. Your best bet, given the fact that your tenancy in any apartment, even with a lease, is not absolute, is to get over whatever the dispute is, and live peacefully with your neighbors.
