Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Tenant / business damages?
As a business tenant, under lease, my building was sold. The new buyer released a news article in a local paper that he was buying my building and will be closing it up for remodeling. My employees found out and I have had numerous problems since. What recourse do I have?

Re: Tenant / business damages?
The new owner must honor your lease
As to the newspaper articles, I would retain an attorney to write the new owner regarding remodeling, and that you intend to bing action for damages.
You also possibly have a suit for whatever has already happened, but there are several specific actions that you have to prove against the new buyer.
Best recourse: Retain an attorney. You will have an easier time righting the wrongs than doing it yourself.
