Hello - If a tenant is evicted due to nonpayment of rent, and cannot offord to pay movers to move his furniture and belongings out of the residence, does the landlord have the right to keep them?

The landlord does not have the right to keep the furniture. The landlord must wait a reasonable time [no set definition what is reason] before dispossing of the proprety, which can be sold [with worthless items thrown away], but would then be a credit against an money owed by the tenant. The best thing is to contact your landlord and try to work somethink out.
