Tenant refunds

When returning a security deposit to a tennant you must return it with the interest earned. What is the percentage of the interest?

Payment of interest on tenant security deposits is not a state-wide requirement, but rather is generally required by local rent control ordinances. I recommend that you check with your local dept. of housing either city or county) to see if the local ordinances require payment of interest on security deposits. For example, Berkeley and San Francisco rent control boards provide online calculators for security deposit interest.
