Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Tenant/Landlord dispute

3 years ago we left a rental property. we usued our deposit to pay the last month rent and then 1 year ago the person took me to court and sued me for damages that were not from us. The judge sided with them and I was required to pay him. I have had some really hard times, my husband was laid off several times. I am trying to modify my loan and my stepson has moved in with us. I received a letter that he is going to garnish my wages. Is there anything that I can do to stop this and set up a payment plan or something.

Re: Tenant/Landlord dispute

The letter should have informed you of the procedure to seek a court order reducing the amount of the post-judgment wage levy. That's what you will need to do to claim hardship, and do so immediately.
