My tenants left $5000 worth of damage to my property. What can I do?

Your only recourse is to sue in small claims court

Mr. Tuann is exactly right. It is a classic case for Small Claims Court.

Within 21 days of their leaving you must send them a detailed letter as to why you are not returning their security deposit, including damage repair estimates, receipts, etc. Also take photos showing the damage. Write them of the negative effects of your getting a judgment against them. In the future do regular inspections.
