if four tenants were on a rental agreement and two of them unsuspectantly move out, are the other two tenants are being served with an eviction is it the two reamainig tenants obagation to pay the full amount of rent

Yup. The tenants are what is called "jointly and severally liable for the rent," which means that while they are all responsible for the rent they are each individually responsible to the landlord for the full amount, subject to a right to cross-complain against the other tenants for indemnity and contribution.
