Can a landlord tell his renter she cannot have a male spend 1 or 2 nights in her studio?

Is there a provision in the lease regarding this? If not, landlord is overstepping his, or her, boundaries. There are certain limitations, such as criminal conduct, i.e. making or selling drugs, but as to your "guests", no way can the landlord impose restrictions.
