Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Terminated my lease early. Owner was able to find a tenant the following month, but is suing me because they didn't move in until 2 weeks later. Am I still liable for that amount?

When you terminate a lease early, you are liable for rent until a new tenant actually starts paying rent. If they started paying two weeks before they moved in, the LL cannot charge you those two weeks rent. If however, he found the tenants but they did not start paying rent until the moved in, you are liable for the rent until they actually moved in and started paying rent.
