towing

vehicle was towed. no sign posted stating vehicle will be towed if parked here. residentail apt complex.

You do not give us enough information. If you were parked in your own space or a non-assigned space in the complex, your vehicle should not have been towed, unless there are complex rules on how long you can park in those slots.

My guess is that you either were in someone else's slot or trespassing on the site since you do not live there. The owner of private property has the right t have illegal vehicle removed from is its property. If you have a reason for being there, you can talk to the rental manager, but they will have no ability to reimburse the towing and storage fees.

Also, vehicle can always be towed from a city street for expired registration.
