Type your question here...I am in a low income apartment complex and I was moved in at 35% which my rent is $624.00 a month. I received a notice on July 31, 2009 that my rent is going to increase to $985.00 for my monthly rent. My agreement is from April 15, 2009 to October 31, 2009 in which after that it is month to month. My question is Can they raise my rent because the manager says that they do not have the 35% units available, only 50% that the management made a mistake, so they are now raising my rent.

Once your lease is up, they can make any changes they want, but not until it is up. So they should only be charging you the higher rent starting 11/1/09.
