unlawful detainer complaint in california
after the landlord wins the judgement against tenant, how does he proceed to the next step, and either get monies owed, or at least be on the books as to recover monies owed??

The landlord first will obtain possession of the property.
But, you ask about money. Like any other money judgment, it is enforceable by levying against bank accounts and wages, and recording the judgment to become a lien on any real property. A judgment is good for 10 years and may be renewed for another 10.
