Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Unlawful detainer

I filed an unlawful detainer (eviction) and within that time my tenants moved out. I still want to go after them for the money they owe me. I was told that I have to fill out new forms and submitt to the court. What forms do I fill out and how do I fill out. This is my first time being a landlord and not familiar with terms etc..

Re: Unlawful detainer

The unlawful detainer ends when they move out.

You need to file a specific Small Claims Court action for money damages, based on what you are owed.

California has many self-help websites, especially through the California Court system, as to filling out the forms.
