Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Unlawful Detainer
Can a judgement be reversed due to financial distress? i.e. husbands illness/death created alot of debt and I could no longer pay rent and am moving but have a judgement for over $7K. Should I file a BK?

No, a judgment cannot be reduced due to financial distress. Should you file bankruptcy over a $7,000 debt? Probably not. But if your debt is substantial, like over $20,000, bankruptcy may be the best option for you.
