Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

So one of the upstairs renter just installed a camera in the left side of the house facing the driveway so he can see his parked car. I park next to him, on the left side of the car facing the driveway entrance. I think he's spying on us if ever we hit his car when backing up or when parking. Is this even legal installing a camera? What are the laws about this? Can we tell the renter to take the camera off?
