Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Vehicle vandalized/burglarized while at work

At about 2-3 pm, while i was inside working, my car was broken into and several items were stolen. We pay rent to a property management company, who i think is bonded? (the property has chains the use at night to block driveways and there is a security guard). My employer MANDATES i park on the side of the building (where the incident occured) where there are no cameras. From what i THINK i know, the employer and property management owe me a debt of security while i am working. However they claim otherwise. What actions can i take to rectify this and whom do i address?

Sorry, but I do not think you can win, assuming you wish to undertake legal action.

This happened in broad daylight, so it is possible, or probable, that the thief/thieves looked into your vehicle at something catching his/their eye/eyes.

Bonding only means an employee who steals is covered for loss by the bonding company. You are confused by the difference between bonding, and liability insurance.

Your only chance is to show negligence by the landlord, or employer, which means they could forseeably anticipate a break-in on the street.

In my opinion, your only hope is that your auto insurances has comprehensive coverage, and your own insurance company would then be liable after the deductible.
