Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I have a verbal rental agreement with an in law whom we've been paying cash monthly and is now wanting us out. She has hired a property management team and they are asking for our rent. Do we have to pay the property management team? Or do we continue to pay our inlaw? She has also had the property management team to give us a 60 day notice to vacate.

If you know that the property management company has been hired, you pay your rent to them unless instructed otherwise by the landlord. Make sure you get a receipt.

The landlord may direct you to deliver payment to the managment company. Pay as however instructed.

If you are on a month to month agreement, a 60-day is an appropriate way to terminate the tenancy.
