Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I was wrongfully charged for flea control when we moved. They told us there was a pet on the premises and I told them we only had birds. They then told me that as a personal witness on numerous occasions they saw a cat in my upstairs bedroom window and that supposedly several others "acknowledged" the supposed cat. I NEVER HAD A CAT and I am looking to resolve this matter by getting my money back.

I take it they took that out of your security deposit? If so then you will have to sue them in small claims court. Write them a letter denying the cat and demanding your money back. If they don't do it file suit the next week. and be prepared to put on your case.
Good luck and hope that helps.
