Bad Judgement call
On my off day I called my health care provider to seek information on talking with a counselor about some work related problems and the stress that it was causing me. The phone conversation went as follows; i had explained everthing that was going on and was asked did I feel asthough I was going to harm myself or others? I responded with not myself but maybe others. I was ask who they were. Then I was ask two questions: that if I were to do something what would it be. So thinking that they were hypothetical I thought there would be no harm in answering I answered the questions. So later that night my employer had security hand deliver to my residence a letter of suspension without pay pending a pyscological evaluation. So the following day I called the person that I had spoke with and she said that after talking with her supervisor she said that she should call my employer and warn them of potential danger. I never once said that I was going to do anything or threatend anyone. I'm still having problems because of that. I had a restraining order filed against me and I was moved to a different work site. Is there anything that I could do about this situation?

the threat you made was not privileged. the health care provider had a legal duty to inform the employer.
