Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

I bought a gift card from somebody worth $250 for $100 where I took the cardbusiness to a gift card exchange business where I gave my id info, took my picture and in exchange for the gift card the gave me a % of the 250 in cash. They verified at that point that the money was on the card then issued me 1/2 of the cash right then and gave me a receipt to pick up the other half in 3 days. I went back 3 days later and was told that the card no longer had money on it and was told my privilege to use their services was suspended. I do not know what happened and may have been caught up in some kind of scam which I explained to them. Come to find out they posted my picture in their place of business my name and all for the public to see on their wall of shame. I work a full time job have lived in this city for a long and people have come up to me and told me they have seem my picture and not only is it embarrassing but is hurting my image, credibility, and my standing as a good law abiding citizen. I hope I can get some help as to what I can the business just scoffed at me when I asked them if they could remove it.

The old adage that something that sounds too good to be true probably is. That said, I would think that if you offer to refund the money they gave you, they would be happy to remove your photo from the wall of shame. Then you could try to collect from the person who sold you the gift card.
