Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

Contract Term.

I recently recieved a 2 week term notice from my daycare. We were given till 1/26/07. The reason for term quote '' She demands more attention that I cant provide due to the other children.'' Due to the reason of term, I starting looking for another daycare asap and found one yesterday. I let her current provider know that her last day would be today. (1/12/07) She informed me that I was still obligated to pay for the next two weeks. I dont feel I am obligated to pay due to the fact she gave me the two week notice and she stated herself she is unable to take care of my child.

Re: Contract Term.

If you were given until 1/26 to find a new day care provider, that would have been the -last day- to do so. The fact that you found one earlier should relieve you of any further monetary obligation to the current provider. Of course, it also depends on the language of any written agreement that you might have signed.
