Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

If I am contracted by a parent to photograph a "Homecoming dinner," where that person's child as well as that child's friends are present, how do I go about ensuring that I do not get in trouble as I am photographing minors? I live in California and I intend on possibly using these photos for my portfolio and website.

There is nothing you need to be worried about in photographing minors. BUT whether minors or adults, it is illegal to use the images on your website or in your portfolio without model releases from any identifiable person in any images you use.
