Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California
Ethics
Two yrs ago I separated from my husband. At the time I had been having an affair with a man that happens to be an attorney. He offered to represent me for free.Everything was OK until his wife found out about our affair and is now in the process of trying to destroy me.He allowed his wife to view my divorce file along with access to his voice mail and email accounts. His wife called my husband and the two of them plotted to ''get even with me'' . My attorney/lover knew what his wife was doing but didn't have the courage to stop it. In addition to
ruining my divorce case she is now insisting I pay for his services. Obviously we are not seeing each other anymore but he continues to send me bills and threatening to send me to collections and then he
sends me secretive emails confessing his undying love and that he doesn't expect me to pay that he has a
plan to pay it secretly..I want the harrassment to stop. What should I do?
