Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California
family law/attorney not doing job
is there any ethical violations on an attorney that I can pursue if an attorney I hired does not serve the other party in a timely manner and then attorney takes matter off calander, then 1 month later files a notice of withdrawl of attorney of record with no notice to me of this?

You can complain to the State Bar.
Unless you have omitted some facts, the attorney actions are clearly inappropriate.

The attorney cannot file a unilateral notice of withdrawal. The attorney can attempt to secure your written consent on a substitution of attorney, or could file a motion with the court, but has to serve you with a copy of the motion so you can secure new counsel.
