Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

I graduated from high school in 2007. I had been accepted to SJSU fall semester, I attended orientation and picked my courses for the upcoming semester. Over the summer upon graduation in June, I filled out a request to have my transcript mailed to SJSU. The school failed to mail my transcript over the summer. I was unaware of this because I had gone to Africa on a community service trip. When I came back mid August, I was notified by SJSU that my transcript had not been received. The following business day, I went to the high school to process a transcript so that I could hand take it to the university. It takes three weeks to process a transcript, and by the time I found out, school would be starting the following week. Since there was no transcript, I was unable to attend the University. Can I bring this to court? Because of the school's mistake, my future was ruined and I wasted a year of schooling. I had no choice but to enroll in community college the following semester.

No. It was your responsibility to see that the transcript was processed, and to stay on top of it.
