Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California
My husband is a supervisor. One of his team members came to him and told him that if he gets fired for any reason that he has "bad stuff" on everyone in the company and that he has been recording every conversation that he has. He says that if anything happens to his job that he will take the information and make the company lose it's contracts. Is this legal.

Recording private conversations is a crime punishable by prison and a fine. It's not a wise thing for the "team member" to do. Your husband might speak with human resources or a corporate executive about the issue, perhaps hypothetically.
