Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

I left a very valuable Canon Digital Camera valued over 500.00 in a Limo. Upon asking for the property left my messages to the owner of the limo were ignored and not returned. Another digital Camera was left in the limo and was also not returned upon request. What are my legal options getting my lost/stolen property returned as I know for a fact when and where the Camera was placed in the limo. It was also brought to my attention after asking for my property left that the Limo is no longer apart of a business, the owner of the car once had a business but no longer operates as an official limo service. The owner still charges for a service that she was no longer contracting the vehicle for. How can I pursue getting the valued amount of my Camera and/or Camera returned to me. There was no contract releasing them from responsibility for lost/stolen property in the limo which was signed by myself or the person who paid for the limo driving services of the vehicle?
